Extracurricular Activities

Extracurricular activities are an integral part of the educational offering at the International School of Valladolid.
They are grouped into four large blocks:

Extracurricular activities will begin in October, and we offer a trial period for the first week, during which students can try different activities free of charge, allowing them to explore their talents and abilities.
Throughout October, the school reserves the right to modify activities and schedules based on scheduling needs, as well as to establish both a minimum and maximum number of participants per activity.
Activities during the afternoon (4:30 to 5:30 p.m.) are open to students outside the school.

Dining room

We have our own kitchen at the school, which allows us to offer a carefully curated, top-quality service to our entire educational community.
We focus on local and seasonal products, as well as fair trade and energy conservation. All our menus are prepared with olive oil.
Our school nurse and nutritionist prepares menus based on a Mediterranean diet. They are nutritionally balanced and promote healthy habits.
Our philosophy is to satisfy both the tastes and dietary needs of our students. Specific diets are designed for students with special dietary needs, allergies, and intolerances.
Our dining room is spacious and open-plan, and our kitchen has recently been renovated.

School nurse

The school has a nurse on staff throughout the school day. In addition to providing immediate assistance for minor mishaps (falls, foreign objects in the eyes, scrapes, etc.), she provides assistance to students with chronic problems and provides preventative and health education services.
In addition, she provides counseling and training for teachers in health matters (such as first aid). She promotes healthy lifestyle habits, as well as guidelines for proper nutrition and hygiene, both personal and environmental.

Speech therapist

Our speech therapy service is available to all students who request it from the preschool stage onwards. Speech therapy is essential for facilitating students’ communication and understanding and strengthening other psychological characteristics such as confidence, self-esteem, and integration both in the classroom and socially.
Sessions can be individual or group (2-3 students max.) and in them students play games and acquire learning techniques that significantly improve their academic performance.
Communication between the speech therapist, family, and classroom tutor is ongoing and aims to personally address the well-being of the student.

Psychologist and School Counselor

Our project focuses on individualized attention that allows us to understand our students’ aspirations, challenges, and emotional and social development.
That’s why the work of the School Psychologist and Counselor is essential, as they help students discover their strengths and identify and enhance their skills through individual and group sessions. They also advise and support our teaching staff in their teaching strategies, especially in dealing with students with Special Educational Needs (SEN) and in conflict resolution.
Our students have another role model in the form of the CPWC within the school who helps them overcome challenges that may affect their learning, as well as personal difficulties and difficulties in relationships with classmates, family members, etc.

Immersive Summer Camp

From the end of June through the month of July, the school has been organizing an urban camp with English language immersion at the facilities of its partner, the Hotel Lasa Sport. Registration is open to students from all over Valladolid.

School Transportation

We offer a School Transportation service consisting of several routes that operate Monday through Friday, both within and outside of Valladolid.
The purpose of this service is to facilitate the transportation of our students to the school campus, and therefore, it is designed annually taking into account the needs of the students who request it.
They are valid from September to June, inclusive, and out of respect for users, extensions to the route or stops will be avoided.
The routes are designed with user comfort in mind, with a maximum duration of one hour, in compliance with current school transportation regulations.
Students are welcomed and assisted by the route instructors, who are responsible for the care of the students on board, especially the youngest, and for ensuring strict compliance with the current regulations for the use of transportation by all.

Early birds

The Colegio Internacional de Valladolid has an Early Bird Service that helps parents balance their work and family lives.
During the Early Bird period, various recreational activities and projects are offered to support and reinforce their learning and engagement in the classroom.
The Early Bird Service begins at 7:30 a.m. and ends just before classes begin.

Play room

The Playroom service begins at 4:30 p.m. and ends at 5:30 p.m., and is run by school staff. Games are offered, tutoring is provided if necessary, and, weather permitting, outdoor activities are available. Individual days or a full month can be booked, depending on the family’s needs.
