Excellence and immersion in languages

At our school, the language of instruction is English, with a special emphasis on Spanish as our mother tongue. This means that 80% of the school day is taught in English thanks to highly qualified teachers. Our students have the opportunity to take the Cambridge English exams, and most achieve the C2 Proficiency level at the end of their schooling or even before.

We offer a comprehensive Language Program, introducing the learning of other languages such as French in Primary School and German in Secondary School. Our students leave school with a broad understanding of the world around them and the tools they need to navigate it naturally.

Frequently asked questions

When can I enroll my child?

Enrollment can be completed throughout the school year. As a private school, we are flexible when it comes to enrolling students. However, we recommend that you enroll as soon as possible as our available places are limited.

What steps should I follow when completing an application?

The first step is to request information using the form found in the admissions section. You can schedule an in-person appointment with our school’s admissions officer, Tamara González Martínez, who will be happy to answer any questions or concerns you may have.
To facilitate the process, registration forms can be submitted online.
Once we receive confirmation of your place, we will proceed to collect the corresponding educational information to complete the registration process.

What are the school’s hours?

The normal school day begins at 9:00 a.m. and ends at 4:15 p.m. for Preschool and Primary students. Secondary and Baccalaureate students have continuous hours from 8:55 a.m. to 3:15 p.m. Lunch is mandatory for all students except Baccalaureate students, for whom this service is optional.

How is the goal of bilingual education achieved?

Our core philosophy is based on natural language acquisition, just as we acquire our mother tongue. We don’t teach English, we teach in English.
In Preschool and Primary, the British curriculum is followed, while in Secondary and Baccalaureate, the Spanish curriculum is followed, but with British methodology. All classes are taught in English, except for Spanish, French, and German.
The Baccalaureate educational program maintains language immersion in the first year of this stage, with the EBAU (Bachelor’s Degree in English) being the objective in the second year, and therefore, the percentage of subjects taught in English is lower.

What level of English do students achieve under the Common European Framework?

Our students achieve external and objective qualifications corresponding to a C1 Advanced level upon completion of compulsory secondary education and a C2 Proficiency level in high school.

Is a dining service offered?

CIV offers a complete and varied weekly menu that guarantees the nutritional qualities of a balanced Mediterranean diet and aims to please and meet the expectations of our students. Using seasonal produce and olive oil, our menus are prepared by our school nurse and nutritionist in collaboration with the kitchen and dining room manager.

Does the school offer extracurricular activities?

We have a varied selection of activities tailored to meet a wide range of needs and interests. Our qualified and experienced staff provide this service both during school hours and after school hours.
School clubs meet during school hours at 1:50 p.m. and after school hours at 4:30 p.m.

What time should I arrive at school?

For those who prefer, we offer an early bird service starting at 7:30 a.m.
If you arrive by car, you must do so by 8:45 a.m. for Secondary and Baccalaureate education or by 8:55 a.m. for other stages.
Please use the parking area in front of the main entrance.
School buses arrive at 8:50 a.m. and depart from school at 3:25 p.m. and 4:25 p.m.

School calendar

The school follows the school calendar provided by the Department of Education of Castile and León.
The school calendar will be delivered before the start of the school year and is also available on the school’s platform.

Who should I contact if I have a question about my child?

The first point of contact should always be your child’s tutor. The tutor is the person who has the most contact with your child and will have the best overview of your child’s progress.

How does the school staff communicate with families?

Through the Clickedu platform and the Office of the Secretary.

What is ClickEdu?

ClickEdu is the school’s online management and communication platform. It improves communication between the school and parents and includes a portal that allows you to access information about your child’s schedule, attendance, registration, grades, and evaluations.
Please direct any questions about ClickEdu to the College System Administrator.

Who should I contact if my child is absent from class due to illness or any other reason?

Please contact your child’s guardian before the start of the school day. If we do not receive communication or authorization, students are recorded as absent.

Should I send my child to school if they are unwell?

Do NOT send your child to school if they have a fever and are likely to be infectious.

Who should I inform if my child is taking medication?

Please contact the school nurse through the school office at 983 45 82 67.
Any medication should be clearly labeled with your child’s name and with written instructions indicating the exact dosage, times, and methods of administration. Children should not keep medications in their bags or lockers unless they have express written permission.

Who should I contact if my child has a food allergy?

Please contact the school nurse through the Office of the Secretary at 983 45 82 67.
The school chef will be notified and a special menu will be prepared for your child.

What will happen if my child has an accident at school?

If your child suffers a serious accident, you will be informed immediately. Any head injury will be reported, regardless of the severity. If deemed necessary, your child will be transferred directly to one of the following hospitals: Sagrado Corazón-Felipe II, Paracelso, or Hospital Campo Grande; accompanied by the school nurse and/or a member of the administration team.
